Two of our Junior designers: Natalia & Gianluca have visited Salone del Mobile exhibition in Milan on 14th April 2016. Below are the highlights and news from our most popular brands.
As it is their 40th Anniversary in 2016, Magis have presented their collection on a large tiered seating stand to showcase the evolution of the designs over the last 40 years and the playfulness of the brand. Some of the new products were showcased and included designs by Marcel Wanders, Jaime Hayon, Phillippe Starck, Konstantin Grcic, the Bouroullec brothers and more. The family of the tables and stools shown above was designed by Jerzy Seymour and it’s the ‘Bureau for the Study of Vivid Blue Every-Colour Inhabitations of the Planet, the Transformation of Reality, and a Multitude of Happy Endings’ forms a part of the conceptual art work ‘New Dirty Enterprises’, first presented at the ABC Art Fair in Berlin in 2013.
Pedrali
Pedrali is a new brand to Ferrious, used mostly for contract projects. They had a large stand with a lot of products on show, we particularly like the Nolita family.
Vitra stand featured classics like the Eames Storage Unit (ESU) in the original colourway, the Cite Chair, Gueridon Bas coffee table as well as a lot of various Akari Light Sculptures by Isamu Noguchi.
LCW Chairs in stained red plywood were joined by little figurines of Cat & Dot which have recently joined the Wooden Doll Family by Alexander Girard
Vitra’s stand was a busy one! They showcased mostly established products as well as some new designs. The stand seemed to be built like a house, going up very high. Jean Prouve, Isamu Noguchi, Charles & Ray Eames as well as Bouroullec brothers’ designs were everywhere. The All Plastic Chair by Jasper Morrison was the newest addition to the collection, a remake of the simple classic wooden chairs found everywhere around Europe.
