Manchester Fashion Institute at Graduate Fashion Week 2017
This year, we were delighted to have won the bid for a design of a new Graduate Fashion Week stand for Manchester Fashion Institute. The exhibition is an annual event held at the Truman Brewery in London and showcases work of thousands of graduates from universities all around the UK.
We had a large exhibition space to work with, but the stand elements also had to fit inside a transit van to get to London from Manchester, so we were limited as to the design and had to find a solution. As a result, we designed a collapsible 8-part round table which could be moved around freely to create smaller hubs for the students to chat with industry representatives.
The tables were put together on-site as were the other elements. As an addition to the large tables, we built A-boards & lean shelves which were used for display of literature and posters advertising the Manchester Fashion Institute.
The idea was to make the stand simple, but also eye-catching. The students from 4 different fashion courses presented their portfolio on top of the tables and could sit down and chat with potential future employers around them. We used the Pilcrow Pub Stools which one of our in-house designers helped create. They linked the stand to Manchester as the designers who designed it are Manchester Metropolitan University alumni. We added a bit of yellow to the stools to match the MFI branding.
Overall, the students and the visitors have liked the stand. See more photos below.
