Living Divani Off Cut Shelving
Living Divani Off Cut Shelving is a bookcase designed by assembling interlocking laths of solid American Oak or Walnut splints, thickness of 20x20mm, made from off-cuts of other pieces of furniture. 6 shelves in clear tempered glass 6mm thick. The base/lower shelf is always in wood, same finish as the bookshelf. Angular edge is screwed to the base to support a stabiliser weight.
The Living Divani Cut Off Shelving unit plays with the possible vistas of the user. Multiple wooden poles are juxtaposed, creating many vertical and horizontal interlocking pieces. To accentuate the edges, the shelves themselves are transparent planes of glass. The playful quality of their assembly is further underlined with varying shelf heights.
