Our client came to us to remodel the kitchen space of a large 1930’s detached kitchen and to provide a beautiful but functional kitchen for a large family. The original space was dark and dated and the client wanted a contemporary but not clinical solution that could be used by all the family members at the same the same time.
Building works were undertaken to remove an old bay window to create a full height opening with a window seat to be used as a place for people to converse with the cook while in the kitchen. The Castore suspension light was used in this area to highlight the space. The original tiled floor was removed and levelled before being re-tiled with a Jura Grey limestone. The orientation of the kitchen was changed to create a long island with the cooking area facing the new window. The large 4.2 metre island was capped at the dining and sink end with a Riverwashed Spekva worktop, with the colour chosen to tie in with the natural floor. The rest of the kitchen, including the worktops, were completed in a HPL laminate to ensure maximum durability in a family environment.
Behind the island featured a run of tall units incorporating the majority of the Siemens appliances which was highlighted on the top using LED lighting to provide a soft ambient light when not being used. Acheo’s durable AC03 kitchen range was used in the project to ensure maximum durability and practicality. To accessorise and add colour to the space, we supplied the Twiggy pendant and Perpetual wall calendar in red.

The client came to us with the desire to update the existing contractors kitchen in the iconic Hacienda apartments, to try and integrate the kitchen into the living space in a more effective manner. Due to the open plan style of the apartment the kitchen needed to work in the living space, providing a dining a solution while being as compact, yet effective as possible. The floors between the 2 areas were broken up by a tile threshold that the client wanted to remove to try and open up the space and create a seamless transition between the 2 areas.
The floors and thresholds throughout the apartment were removed and replaced by a grey stained oak flooring which removed the separation of the areas to the eye. The kitchen island was designed to be as open as possible, utilising a steel frame to create a large Silestone cantilever that lead the eye through to the back of the space making everything feel more open. This also created a dining space for 4 people complimented by the ‘About a Stool‘. Above the island a mirror clad extractor was installed above the hob to try and minimise the impact while LED lighting was installed above the rear tall units and wall cabinets to eliminate dark corners and lighten the kitchens appearance.
Using Acheo’s AC0X system ensured the clients got the high quality of internals they wanted, featuring stainless steel and oak inserts. All the worktops and side panels were a Silestone construction, keeping the colours the same as the cabinets ensured the fuss free approach the client was after was upheld.
