It’s great to wake up and see trees

We were asked to take a loft room used as an office, a room with a kitchen in the corner and no clear direction and create a tranquil, peaceful bedroom for a young writer where he could wake up and see trees. To achieve the purity needed we stripped the room back to its four walls, created ceiling voids for hidden lutron controlled lighting and designed custom wardrobes produced by the Italian company Porro to fit into the eaves. The bed was designed specifically for the project by ourselves and was made from European Oak and sits in harmony with the Marset Scantling lights used as bedside lights with the larger Scantling floor illuminating the classic Knoll Womb chair designed by Eero Saarinen ,a perfect whiskey drinking chair. The whiskey….well that lives in the Cubovo, a piece of history from the company Porro and designed by Bruno Munari. The dog by the way is Brian and he appreciates a design classic.
