Zeitraum presents its new products and extensions to existing families at this month’s design fair in Cologne. The featured editions are all under the theme “light”.
We welcome the Zenso chair series designed by Formstelle, which includes a dining, lounge and bar chair (in 2 heights). All three versions will be available without upholstery or with upholstered seat and backrest for extra comfort. What beautiful shapes! The frames can also be stained in one of the standard Zeitraum stains which means there will be hundreds of options to make this chair or stool your own.
“Actually, the family of chairs should have been called Ensõ. The round circles follow the motif of the Ensõ, a symbol in Japanese calligraphy: Although the Ensõ is actually a symbol and not a letter, it is one of the most common drawings in Japanese calligraphy. It symbolises enlightenment and elegance, the universe and the void, but also symbolises Japanese aesthetics in itself.”
The other new addition is a new bed – Yoma designed by KASCHKASCH. This complex design will allow you to move the headrest cushions around into the position you require at the moment. Or just stick with traditional single headboard! Beautiful wood finishes of the base along with the selection of Kvadrat and Gabriel fabrics means endless possibilities. Doesn’t it look like a fun bed?
“YOMA appears to be floating. It stands apart through its low frame. The long side of the bed serves as a shelf, one detail of the craftsmanship is the wave that serves as a wooden connection. Through its rounded corners the bed also appears soft and inviting.”
That’s it for the completely new design launches however, Zeitraum have also updated a few of the favourites, starting with the Noon lighting collection. It will now be available with white structure in addition to the established black version. EL Schmid who manufacturers the lights in his factory in Seville says:
“Nowadays my goal in my work is to use masterfully crafted detail work to create a durable and good design with its own unique character.”
Another update comes for the Rail family. The newest addition being the Rail Solo table. It is a simplified version of the Rail system: a table top and four separate legs. It’s available in all the existing finishes from the collection, with a variety of linoleum tops.
“Thanks to its elasticity the natural and durable linoleum surface is an ideal work surface. It stands out through its long durability and pleasant feel. Since the linoleum adapts to the room temperature, it lends a pleasant feel when you place your arms on the surface to work.”
These products and a few more additions will be available to order soon, please contact us for details if you’re interested. Thank you for reading, come back for more!
