We’d like to share with you the news from Tom Dixon at Maison et Objet Paris 2018.
They are focusing on soft furnishings, including cushions and throws. They are also introducing a new smaller version of the much-loved Spin Candelabra. All the new additions will be available from February 2018.
Comprising a selection of cushions and throws, the Super Texture collection encompasses three new product families and updates to two existing ranges.
The first addition is the collection called Abstract – really fluffy and colourful patterned cushions. This technique is called tufting and is usually used when making rugs as the fabric comes out really thick (eg. see Gan Rugs). These were designed by an up and coming designer Josephine Ortega (commissioned by Tom Dixon).
The new size of Spin Candelabra will be great for design lovers with smaller homes! Space-saving version and just as amazing, still made out of cast iron and spinning.
Tom Dixon said the inspiration behind the deep pile cushions included urban perspective sketches and “hippy” wall hangings from the 1970s.
Another colourful collection that will join Tom Dixon family is Paint. These beautiful patterns will be available printed on high-quality cushions in different sizes. The patterns are abstract paintings of urban landscapes.
A less colourful but just as busy design is featured on the Geo collection of scatter cushions and a throw. Reminding us of rock formations and layered sediment, the bold patterns are stitched onto the cushions and double-sided throw with black thread.
The Super Texture collection also introduces updates to two existing soft ranges: Boucle and Soft. The updates come in shape of new colours for the cushions and throws, Electric Blue and Khaki for Boucle.
The new colours of Soft collection are: Khaki & Wine, joingin the existing 4 colours of the cushions: Blue, Grey, Ochre & Pink.
